Decision Support System type

It is important to note that the Decision support system (DSS)does not have a specific model received or used throughout the world. Many theories DSS implemented, so there are many ways to classify DSS.

1. DSS passive model is a model that simply collect data and organize it effectively, it usually does not provide a specific decision, and only displays the data. An active DSS in fact actually process the data and explicitly demonstrate a variety of solutions based on the data.

2. DSS active models otherwise process the data and explicitly demonstrate solutions based on the data obtained, although it should be remembered that the human intervention on the data can not be denied again. For example, the data is dirty or junk data, it would generate gross output as well (garbage in garbage out).

3. DSS cooperative if the data is collected, analyzed and then given to the man who helped the system to revise or correct it.

4. Model Driven DSS is a type in which the decision makers using statistical simulations or financial models to produce a solution or strategy without having intensive to collect data.

5. Communications Driven DSS is a type of DSS that many Atua methods combined with other applications, to produce a series of decisions, solutions or strategies.

6. Data Driven DSS emphasize the collection of data which is then manipulated to suit the needs of decision makers, can be external and internal data Atua has a variety of formats. It is vital that the data collected and classified sequentially, for example, daily sales data, operating budgets from one period to another, the inventory in the previous year, and so on.

7. Document Driven DSS use a variety of documents in various forms such as text documents, excel, and recording of data bases, to produce decisions and strategies of manipulation of data.

8. Knowledge Driven DSS is a type of DSS that uses certain rules that are stored in the computer, which is used by humans to determine whether the decision should be taken. For example, limit stops on the trade exchange is a model of knowledge-driven DSS.
